CART is Communication Access Realtime Translation from spoken to written language. Microsoft, YouTube, and Zoom (in beta testing) are companies translating speech to text using automatic speech recognition algorithms. Auto-captions provide no punctuation, no speaker identification, and no realtime correction, leaving CART consumers without effective communication access. So is there a market for trained, accurate CART providers? Absolutely. STAR webinar attendees will learn from the CART expert, Gayl Hardeman, FAPR, RDR, CRR, CRC, CRI, about the task of transitioning from court reporter to CART captioner.
