Bios:
Richard Sciré (shir-RAY) has been a court reporter since 1998. A graduate of Sarasota County Technical Institute, he holds national and state certifications as a Registered Professional Reporter and Florida Registered Reporter. After freelancing (1998-2003), he served as an official court reporter for the 12th Judicial Circuit (2003-2021), providing Realtime for judges and CART services for the hard of hearing.
A dedicated leader, Richard was the 2020-2021 president of the Florida Court Reporters Association and has held multiple board positions. He has written for industry publications, served as editor and publisher of The Florida Reporter, and is a public speaker, including as an NCRA keynote speaker with his twin brother.
Richard has been featured in news programs and the documentary For The Record, promoting it across media platforms.
A native New Yorker, Richard has called Florida home since 1988. He is an active philanthropist, an Angel donor to the National Court Reporters Foundation, and a 2007 inductee into Sarasota County Technical Institute’s Wall of Fame.
Michael Sciré (pronounced “shir-RAY”) has been reporting for almost 30 years and holds the RPR and the CMRS certifications through the National Court Reporters Association and the FPR-C certification through the Florida Court Reporters Association. Michael is the 2024-2025 President of the Florida Court Reporters Association.
Originally from Long Island, New York, Michael has called Sarasota home since 1988. He graduated from Sarasota County Technical Institute in Sarasota, FL and was honored by the school with the prestigious Distinguished Alumni award. He began his career as a freelance court reporter. He then worked as a State Official Court Reporter and supervisor for the 12th Judicial Circuit for 19 years, providing realtime for the judges every day and reporting some of the most high-profile criminal cases in Florida. In 2021, after 19 years as an official court reporter, he returned to freelance court reporting where he joined the executive team at Diamond/Naples Court Reporting.
Michael enjoys traveling around the country, educating and speaking to other court reporting associations and coauthored with his brother Richard a curriculum on realtime jury selection. He was also a speaker at the National Court Reporters Association’s keynote premier session.
