Andrea discovered her passion for court reporting at the age of 16 and now has more than two decades of experience as a freelance court reporter and captioner locally, nationally, and internationally. In 2015, Andrea became the owner of Associated Reporting & Video, a full-service litigation support and consulting firm headquartered in Boise, Idaho. In 2022, ARV joined the Veritext family. Andrea is now a Veritext Principal in charge of the Idaho offices and enjoys contributing to many aspects of the business.

Andrea served as president of the Idaho Court Reporters Association from 2017 to 2019 and has been an active member of the National Court Reporters Association for nearly three decades. She spends countless hours mentoring students and new reporters, as well as educating the legal community on the important role that court reporters play in our judicial system.

Andrea is married to the love of her life, Will. In her “spare” time, Andrea is an avid kickboxer (call it stress relief) and also enjoys competing in speed and real-time contests whenever she has the opportunity.

Sam graduated from DeVry University with a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering Technology in 2005.  He joined Spectrum Reporting’s video department soon after graduation and apprenticed under CLVS Tom Rees.

Within a couple of years of daily video depositions and trial playback, Sam took on more responsibilities.  Because of his computer background, he became indispensable for troubleshooting realtime connections and daily-copy setups. 

Before long, Sam took ownership of the entire IT infrastructure and spending for the organization and became responsible for researching, developing, and supporting new solutions for Spectrum and its clients.  This included trial presentation, videoconferencing, exhibit processing, secure file delivery, and even a witness transcript-review platform.  He also started presenting on the different technologies to law firms, paralegal organizations, and even to law students, all of this while still being a full-time videographer. 

After ten years in the field, in 2015 Sam became the Operations Manager for Spectrum Reporting.   Though he still fills in for depositions and trials as needed, he now focuses on new business development, staff and client support, and client relations.

Sam married Sanja in 2012 and they have two young children.  Sam and Sanja love international travel.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: GEORGE CATUOGNO, Jupiter, Florida

George is Executive Director at STAR and Chief Operations Officer at The Varallo Group LLC, a management services organization for court reporting firms nationwide.  He began his career in the court reporting and clinical documentation services industries in 1986 and is the former President of Catuogno Court Reporting & StenTel Transcription.  George has volunteered his time serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Medical Transcription Industry Association and as a member of the Advisory Council for Project Steno.

George enjoys outdoor living in Jupiter, FL, with his wife, Melissa, and three kids, and most notably plays pickleball at a competitive level.

SECRETARY:  DEANNA OAKS, RPR, Minneapolis, Minnesota

Deanna is a freelance court reporter, working all over the Twin Cities and Minnesota.  She moved to Minneapolis in 2017 and since that time has worked per diem with numerous judges in several counties throughout the state, started her own company, been appointed to the state association, and joined an alumni mentorship program to help upcoming reporters transition into the profession.

Deanna enjoys volunteering and has taken part in Project for Pride and Living and the UHURU Solidarity Movement in an effort to give back to the community and campaign for positivity and progress. She is currently working on her next professional certification and plans to continue training in all spheres of court reporting.

TREASURER:  TODD MOBLEY, MBA, Dayton, Ohio

Todd Mobley joined Mike Mobley Reporting in January 1994 after earning his degree in accounting from the University of Dayton in 1993. He served as the firm’s president, accountant, and videographer. Todd furthered his education with a Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship from the University of Dayton in 1997.

Upon graduation, he went to work for The Analytical Sciences Corporation (TASC) where he served as a consultant to the Department of Defense and Department of Energy regarding the estimation of costs for environmental cleanup efforts.  He also worked on a document management project for the Air Force in the C-17 litigation that electronically saved millions of exhibits.  At the time, it was the largest conversion of paper exhibits to electronic exhibits ever.

Over his career, Todd has been actively involved in various committees for NCRA and has played a significant role in the Ohio Court Reporters Association. Todd has been serving as the STAR Treasurer since 1998 and continues in this role today.

Todd has been married to Angela Mobley since 2000 and they have three children.  Todd coaches his son’s football, basketball, and baseball teams and coaches both daughters in basketball and soccer.  In his free time, Todd likes to camp, hike, and fish with his family.  He also loves to read, with his interest focused mostly on WWII history.

DIRECTOR (Term Expiring 2025): A. WILLIAM ROBERTS, JR., RMR, CRR, CMRS, CLVS, Charleston, South Carolina

With over 40 years of court reporting experience, Bill Roberts is known as South Carolina’s leading expert in litigation services and technology. He has been at the forefront of emerging technology and was the first reporter in South Carolina to offer Realtime court reporting technology.

Before merging with Veritext in 2019, Bill founded A. William Roberts, Jr. & Associates in 1980.  After graduating from the Stenotype Institute in Jacksonville, he was the official Court Reporter for the Ninth Judicial Circuit of South Carolina. Bill is a Registered Merit Reporter, Certified Realtime Reporter, Certified Legal Video Specialist, and Certified Manager of Reporting Services.

Bill lives in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina with his wife Karen, who is a principal in Veritext. His oldest son David is a principal in Veritext; his middle son Mike is a court reporter with Veritext, and his youngest son Andrew is a television news producer in Chicago.

Bill is committed to the recruitment and training of new court reporters and has mentored many individuals considering court reporting as a career, helping them to thrive in this field of endeavor, many of whom have gone to achieve the highest levels of certification in court reporting. Bill’s outside activities include leadership in a local men’s ministry and Kairos Prison Ministry as well as the Walk to Emmaus. He is an avid car collector and motorcycle enthusiast.

DIRECTOR (Term Expiring 2025):  RICK E. LEVY, RPR, FPR, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida

Rick graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1993 from the University of Alabama and completed Court Reporting school in 1996 from Atlantic Technical College.

He was the sole owner of a court reporting firm from 2003 – 2014 before it merged with First Choice Reporting where he remained a managing partner of the firm.

In 2014 First Choice was acquired by US Legal Support Company and Rick is the current Regional Director of Reporter and Client Relations. He continues to work as a steno reporter handling depositions and trials while also offering realtime services.

He has volunteered on the Florida Court Reporters Association Board of Directors from 2006 – 2011, serving as their president from 2011 – 2012. He was the proud receipient of FCRA’s 2012 Meritorious Service Award, FCRA’s 2016 Emily Mann Distinquished Service Award, and FCRA’s 2018 Arlene P. Sommers Award. Rick also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the National Court Reporters Association from 2013 – 2016. Rick currently serves as a member of Project Steno’s Advisory Council.

DIRECTOR (Term Expiring 2026):  WILLIAM E. WEBER, RDR, CRR, Bethel Park, Pennsylvania

William is the owner of WEW Reporting, a freelance firm, and is an active writer. William has been a court reporter since 1974. His work experience includes a state officialship in Pennsylvania and Ohio, along with a Federal officialship in Pennsylvania.  Currently, he is a partner and founding member with RevolutionaryText.  RevolutionaryText provides remote reporting to the courts, especially in areas where reporters are unavailable.

William is certified as an RPR, CRR, RMR, and RDR with the National Court Reporters Association, and is licensed in Illinois and Kansas.

He served in all positions for the Pennsylvania Court Reporters Association and is a Past President of the National Court Reporters Association. William holds the distinction of Fellow with NCRA.    

William is a graduate of Duff’s Business Institute in court reporting and obtained a bachelor’s degree from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

DIRECTOR (Term Expiring 2026):  MICHAEL DUFFY, CER, Chicagoland, Illinois

Michael Duffy is a freelance Certified Electronic Reporter working in the Chicagoland area. He has a long history in the court reporting industry, both as a reporter and videographer. He earned his CLVS certification in 2011 and served as the head of the video department for Bridges Court Reporting until 2022.

In 2020, he launched the digital reporting department at Bridges and trained his own team of digital reporters, who all went on to become Certified Electronic Reporters as well. Michael has served as a MAXScribe beta tester and currently utilizes MAXScribe software as a reporter. He has extensive knowledge and experience managing a court reporting firm and successfully incorporating new technologies into his business to serve clients well.

DIRECTOR (Term Expiring 2027):  JAYNE KONKEL, RCP-M, Wichita Falls, Texas

Jayne Konkel, CVR, RCP-M, is an experienced CART Captioner with nearly 10 years of expertise in providing realtime CART Captioning. She is the founder of Path to Captions, LLC, a woman-owned, Texas Veteran Commission Certified business. Jayne serves on the STAR Board and chairs the STAR Practitioner Education Committee, which hosts bi-monthly webinars and creates educational content for the court reporting industry. Passionate about community service, mentoring, and the outdoors, Jayne is raising four amazing kids with her very supportive husband, Brandon. She is a member of TEXDRA, MOCRA, NVRA, and STAR, and uses Case CATalyst with VP + BCS alongside Dragon Nuance Professional.

DIRECTOR (Term Expiring 2027):  SARA GIAMMANCO, Santa Clarita, California

Sara Giammanco is a California Certified Shorthand Reporter and worked as a freelancer in Southern California before taking on her current role as Director of Reporter Engagement at U.S. Legal Support where she is committed to enhancing the reporter experience as well as the recruitment and education of the next generation of court reporters.

Prior to her current role, Sara held various positions at U.S. Legal Support since joining the agency in 2011, including time in transcript assembly, records, and transcript production.  During this time, Sara graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California.  Upon graduation, she began to pursue a career in court reporting and enrolled in College of Marin.  After completing court reporting school in less than two years, Sara obtained a degree in court reporting and passed the California Certified Shorthand Reporter licensing test in 2018.

At U.S. Legal Support, Sara has established a Mentorship program for court reporting students, pairing them with seasoned reporters for one-on-one coaching, training, and advisement. She is also passionate about giving back to the reporter community as evidenced by her continued volunteer work with organizations, such as Project Steno, and supporting local and national court reporting associations.

Recreationally, Sara enjoys playing tennis, pickleball, and spending time with her family – including her fur baby, Jeter.
